Smoothies are a staple in our house. We have a smoothie at least twice a week, so we go through blenders pretty quickly. We haven’t quite found a blender that holds up to our family’s smoothie obsession 😉 If any of you have a blender you love, let us know. The nice thing about smoothies is, everyone loves them and the kids always finish them. We never have any left over. Plus, I can sneak in high fiber green veggies like kale or spinach and the kids can’t even tell.
Smoothies are typically pretty simple. All you really need is a fruit, a base, a liquid, and some ice. In this smoothie, the fruit is a cherry berry blend and spinach, the base is the yogurt, the liquid is the almond milk and water. The ice really helps with the flavor because smoothies taste much better when they are cold. In this case, the berries are already frozen, so ice isn’t necessary.
- 2 Cups Cherry Berry Frozen Blend
- 2 Handfuls Fresh Spinach
- 1 8 ounce container of vanilla yogurt
- 1 C Almond milk
- 1 C water or apple juice
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
